This is the second time a JLP councilor has crossed in recent times in the Portland parish council. In 2004 JLP councilor Benny White from the Fellowship division in East Portland crossed the floor and immediately became mayor in 2004.
Dukharan said he had "No comments now" but disclosed that he had applied to the PNP two weeks ago and the response is “very favourable”.
Mayor Floyd Patterson(JLP) wished him all the best but Deputy Mayor Derron Wood (JLP) said "Dukharan is not a loss to the JLP has he has not done anything in the division to serve the people and his attendance at council meeting is the worst for any councilor.
