Eligibility
Candidates should:
- Be sitting the Cambridge ‘A’ Level or CAPE examination in at least three subjects and General Paper in June.
- Have been born in Jamaica, or if not his/her parents should be domiciled in Jamaica either at the time of the applicants’ birth or during the entire period of five years immediately preceding the year of the examination.
- Have resided in Jamaica for a period of at least five years immediately preceding the examination.
In the case of the Jamaica Centenary Scholarship applicant (Male/Female) must each submit a certificate showing that he/she has attended a Public Primary (Infant school excluded) for at least three years. The 2005/2006 awardee will be a female.
[The seven (7) Jamaica Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis to Jamaican Scholars whose performance was most outstanding in the G.C.E. ‘A’ Level Examination].
Conditions Of Award:
- Successful candidates will be bonded to work in Jamaica for a period not exceeding five(5) years.
- The Scholarship award is valid for the academic year immediately following the offer of the award and cannot be deferred for any reason.
